Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET GIZMO!
Gizmo is a 10-ish year old senior with an exquisite RBF (Resting Brat Face) and the perfect little 'tude to match, but don't think this salty boy won't steal your heart before you even know it! Gizmo joined the rescue after a life on the streets of Philadelphia though was no longer thriving out in the elements. After coming into foster care, Gizmo (formerly known by his street name, Gandalf) has warmed to indoor life and human company!
Gizmo was confident and friendly while living outdoors and the move inside did require a bit of adjusting. He currently resides (mostly) peacefully in a foster home with 3 other senior cats and a young dog - all who know that Gizmo enjoys his personal space. While he could do well in a home with other respectful, uninterested housemates, he might come out of his shell quicker if he's your one and only. Being an older man, he's not fond of quick movements that startle him or excessive affection but he does enjoy the casual head scratch and has recently taken up the hobby of climbing into his foster dad's life. While he sometimes requires "help" (medication like gabapentin) in stressful situations or at times he needs to be handled more intrusively, we have no doubt Gizmo will continue to blossom after his decompression time. Gizmo has been known to land a solid swipe or two when he's feeling spicy so he would do best in a home without young children. If you're lucky, Gizmo may even transform into your lap cat - his ultimate sign of love and acceptance!
Gizmo has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue and was in decent shape after all those years outdoors! He is currently on a kidney prescription diet and happily eats many brands of either wet or dry food. We'd be happy to get his future family started with a stock of Rx food to aid his transition. Gizmo uses the litter box without issue and really is an easy going, low-maintenance ol man who can occasionally feel a little spicy. Looking for a low-key companion who doesn't require much? Gizmo's your guy!
Gizmo is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He is also FIV/FeLV negative. As a member of our Shy Cats Club, Gizmo's adoption fee is waived! Interested in adopting him?
