Dog Name: Bello
Breed: Mixed Breed
Sex: Male
Age: 4
Weight: 60
Medical Needs: None! He’s ready to go
Housebroken: Yes!
Crate trained: Yes! Bello knows “crate” when you say crate. He will sleep in his crate all night.
Good in the car: Yes
Good on a leash: A prong collar would be best as he tends to pull
Energy level: Low. Bello is a chill dude. Now don’t get me wrong he loves to play when given the opportunity but he’s pretty calm and loves snuggles
Need a fenced in yard: Not required
Dog Friendly: Bello is in a home with two other dogs. One being a year old. When he’s had enough of her high energy he goes to his crate. Bello has had no issues with either dog but I do recommend not allowing dogs other than Bello in his crate
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? I think he would be happy either way
Cat Friendly? Yes.
Kid Friendly: Bello loves to play with the teenager and has laid on the floor while the infant plays close by
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed? Any age with supervision
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Prior to Bello coming to GRR he was found in a home with a few other dogs with limited to no access to food. Bello is with his second foster. The first foster situation did not work out as there was an incident with food aggression and Bello and the other dog got into a tuffle. Any adoptor should read and FOLLOW the two week shut down protocol. All of our dogs eat alone in their crates. When Bello is not in his crate his door is closed to prevent any other dogs from going in and finding anything that may have been left behind.
Slow introductions to other dogs would be best and Bello needs a safe space especially with food. He tends to be protective of high value items which to him is food.
Bello is truly the sweetest and goodest (yea I made that word up) boy. He loves to snuggle and just hang out. He listens well (most times better than our resident dogs). Whoever adopts him is going to be so lucky to have him.
