Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ PEDRO’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT HE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: PEDRO IS BEING FOSTERED IN OTTAWA, ONTARIO
We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption.

This beautiful little creature was hit by a car, which collapsed his diaphragm, impairing his right lung. After undergoing life saving surgery, Pedro has fully recovered but he does bear the scars physically from the trauma he endured. He is however a happy boy who loves life. We are amazed by his resilience and strength.
Pedro is an affectionate, sweet, loving and cuddly boy with a quiet nature. He wants to be close to you and loves being next to you. He is dedicated and happy being with and pleasing his human. He loves rolling over and showing his belly, just waiting for you to rub it.
Pedro is still a puppy and loves to jump on when excited or to get your attention. He has made great strides improving on this. Time and continued guidance and training will enable him to understand that this is not acceptable behaviour. He is just starting to learn how to play with toys, dogs and people. Spending some time interacting with him in will help him become more comfortable with these things. Pedro does need some confidence building, we can see that the trauma that occurred has taken its toll on him with respect to his sensitivity and he requires a patient person to handle him slowly and calmly.
Pedro is fully house and crate trained (his safe space) and the ideal household for him would be a home with a secure fully fenced backyard, with respectful children 8+. Apartments or condos would be acceptable as well. Someone who works from home or part time would be best for him as he does need his person around him. His adopter is someone who should relish having a companion who is dedicated to them and who wants to be by their side. He is fine with dogs but we recommend him being an only dog due to the fact that he has been through so much and we believe he does deserve a home all to himself. He will chase the foster’s cats occasionally so no cats for Pedro. He is shy meeting new people so a bit more slow socialization would be ideal.
If you feel you would be a good fit for this loving, gentle, sensitive dog, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/
All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.
NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.
BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
