Meet Cookie! This elegant 5 year old Terrier/Pit Bull Mix, has been with us since January and is looking for her forever home. She is just as sweet as her name, loves to pose for the camera, and knows how to sit for treats. Her curious and cuddly personality has truly blossomed here. She is very dog friendly, but if you have another dog in your home we do offer meet and greets to see how they would get along before bringing her home. We think she would thrive in almost every household environment, and would be the perfect family dog. Cookie is up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and ready to find her home just in time for Spring. She is Heartworm positive, but our HSSM Wellness Clinic does offer discounted heartworm treatment to adopters. Spring into love, and come meet her today!!!

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
