This sweet boy is Tank. He is about 18 months old and weighs 15 pounds, he is a little underweight and needs to gain a few more pounds. Tank came from a hoarding situation with over 40 dogs in a small home, so he is under socialized with people and scared. We believe he never went outside, so going potty outdoors is new to him and his foster family takes him out on a leash, and he has been doing very well. He seeks comfort with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to snuggle up with his people. He would do well with another confident dog in the home to show him the ropes.
Tank is quiet and crates nicely. He will need a patient adopter to allow him to get comfortable in a new home, as he wants attention, but can be unsure at first. He is not at all nippy, but he’d probably do better w/o young children in the home. Tank just desperately wants to be loved and cared for by his family. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
If you are interested in adopting Tank please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt.
***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved. ***
