My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

No out of state adoption or northern California will be accepted at all. Neither will Santa Barbara , Ventura, Thousand oaks or Simi Valley. or including anyone in Ventura area we will not accept.

Bently is 1year old Pug mix with Pekingese -- weighing 19lbs -- He could go to solo household without any dogs or anyone has small breed dogs under 25 pounds and under -- he would probably do better with another do in the home so he can gain his confidence become better dog.

Backstory – On Bently is that this lady had lots of pups she thought she found him a good home through someone she knew briefly however, the new owner did not have any experience with dogs and would lock him in dark closet, so they were mentally abusing him which was not right at all.

The lady took him back from the evil people and reached out to us to see if we could help.
He is a super sweetheart who just wants love. Bentley has been around kids , cats , other dogs and is friendly. He is not aggressive at all. He is just scared and needs time to decompress and learn how to be a dog someone who will give him time to do so. Never growls or bite. He's just extremely scared of being hit or kicked. He is neutered & fully vaccinated & microchipped. He is potty trained ; he is leash trained and harness trained.

From foster mom --
He does fine in a crate --- he barks once or twice but not after that he hasn't had an accident at all in one but the longest he's been in one is at night but he does good he's friendly with the other dogs except the other Bentley he likes to play outside he doesn't like to b alone outside loves to cuddle on the couch he licks too much but I'm working on that he tries really hard to please you and he is a very happy bouncy dog a little hyper but settles down really fast. He will lay for hours letting you rub his belly. Side note he gets attached to his Human he with quite quickly within few days.
