My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Brick is a male Ret/Hound mix (best guess) estimated to be 10.5 months old. He was surrendered to our rescue partner in Texas and enjoyed foster care there before heading to the PNW. Brick loves all dogs, people, cats and kids and is a happy go lucky pup looking for his forever home.

Foster Update:  Brick's nickname around our house is "Classic Dog." He arrived here as the puppiest of puppies--joyful, playful, loving everyone (from dogs to cats to small children) and everything (he's especially passionate about sticks, toys, and fetch). Now around a year old, he's grown into the most adolescent of adolescents--which means, like teenagers of many species, he's currently contending with big feelings that can be hard for him to manage and can make him act loud, impulsive, and/or fearful in new situations and with new people. Still the sweetest, most loving boy around people, pets, and places he's familiar with, Brick is looking for a patient, committed forever home that will put in the time and training to help him navigate adolescence and grow into the awesome, Classic Dog we know he will be as an adult. With the right family to help him refocus his energy and build confidence, Brick will be a loving, joyful, playful companion who greets you at the door with his favorite toy or ball, snuggles with you on the couch, and accompanies you on walks and adventures. Brick enjoys learning, is crate and potty trained, knows basic commands, and is friendly with dogs and cats after proper introductions, as well as with calm, older children who can participate in his training. He is looking for a home in a quiet area with a securely fenced yard, another dog to show him the ropes, and humans with the patience and time to help him become his best self. Brick currently lives on a small farm with several other dogs of various ages and sizes, cats, and horses.
