Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Meet Sweet and Striking Samantha - The Perfect Companion for an Active Home!"
Hi there, my name is Samantha and I am a 4-year-old female dog weighing 88 pounds. I am a gorgeous German Shepherd mix with a pretty appearance. I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner could no longer care for me, but I am still hoping to find a loving forever home.
I may be a bit on the heavier side, but don't let that fool you - I am an active and laid back girl who loves going for walks with my people. I can be strong on the leash when I want to go somewhere, but with some training and an active lifestyle, I am sure to lose some weight and feel good again.
My special traits include being incredibly sweet and affectionate. I am a constant companion and will be by your side through thick and thin. I may be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, I am loyal and protective of my people. I am clever, friendly, and independent, with a quirky personality that is sure to make you smile. I am also potty-trained, so that's one less thing you have to worry about!
I am looking for an active home with adults who can help me shed some pounds and get back in shape. I prefer to be the only dog in the home, as I like to have all the attention for myself. But trust me, I have enough love and loyalty to make up for it!
If you are interested in meeting me, please come to the shelter and ask for Samantha. I can't wait to meet my forever family and start our happily ever after. Let's make each other's life complete!
I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me!
Please call between 10am-4pm to schedule an appointment to meet one of our animals! 928-282-4679.

More about this shelter
Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.
The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.
The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.
Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.
The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
