My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bobbie, the tiny pup with a big personality!

Fate brought Bobbie and her rescuers together. Good Samaritans found the sweet little 9-pound pup, soaking wet, shivering, and missing a lot of fur. They named her Bobbie, in memory of their dog Bobby who was rescued from the same area and who had recently passed away.

Since being rescued, Bobbie has gone from being shy an scared to being happy and playful. This little nugget would thrive with another doggo so they can play all day! She is totally crate-trained and doesn't make a peep at night.

More about this rescue

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.

We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
