My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At just three weeks old, Hobbs and his family (Mom and siblings) found their way to rescue after being abandoned at a local county shelter.

Hobbs was adopted as a young puppy, and again as an older puppy, but has returned to rescue - and boy has he grown! A happy and active adult, he is still very hyper and full of energy. He is potty training and knows no and sit. Hobbs likes to play ball, crunchy sounding toys, and has a squeaky doggie he loves.

This loveable guy is good with dogs, cats and kids, and would be a great addition to a family looking for a (big) young dog to grow with them. As long as they like cuddles and kisses.

Update August 7, 2024 from his Tropical Storm Debby foster family:

We have really enjoyed taking care of Hobbs. On the positive side, his schedule for going outside and eating breakfast/dinner has been working really well on a working schedule. He also did very well during the storm and meeting some neighbors around our apartment complex. The feedback I would have to train him even better: he doesnt try to bother our cats at all but he does get pretty spooked if they get too close or are blocking his path where he wants to go. We have been giving him and the cats treats closer together and made some progress on getting them used to sharing the same space. I think he would do well to be cat friendly with some more work on this. He has also been jumping up with his front paws to play some which could be tricky with small kids, but an adult couple or family with older kids would likely be fine.I would say he is very well behaved for any dog and those notes are just where I might train with him if he were staying in our home. We will likely have an emotional time taking him back because we havent cared for our own dog before and he has been great

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.

Our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
