Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pending adoption on 2/25/24
(We have a transport trip on 2/25/24 to Roseville, Ca. And will be extending our trip to other areas of Northern California along with OR for the right families. We will be asking for transport costs to be divided between all adopters in route to help alleviate the total costs involved.)
Meet Tommy! He is a poodle/Maltese mix. He is 2.5 years of age. He weighs right under 10 lbs. He came to us very underweight only weighing right around 5/6lbs., he was skin and bones with every single bone pertruding from his body.
He is at a very much healthier weigh now, and has a great appetite. He was thourely examined prior to his neuter, and his extreme malnutrition didn't cause any long term concerns moving forward.
He is now neutered, micorchipped, current on all vaccines, had a dental cleaning done; both ears plucked, and cleaned, and has officially been cleared by our vet to find a home all his own.
He is house trained, and goes outside to use the restroom when needed. He is crate trained, and currently sleeps in his crate every night. He is also leash trained and loves his walks whenever he can get them.
He loves all dogs, but is fond of dogs his size. He co exists beautifully with all the dogs here, big or small, but only plays with dogs around his size.
He is also great with cats, as he met a few office cats at the vets office, and loved them.
He is very sweet with men, women, and children alike. He has NO fear of anyone. His prior owner had to leave the country due to a family emergency that sadly turned into a death, leaving his return date unknown as he had to tend to family matters. He trusted someone with Tommy that did not take care of him the way he thought they would. They left him outside all by himself, day and night, and did not feed him adequately (if at all at times,) and never once relayed any of this to him. He contacted us here to take him in after being contacted by another aqaintence of Tommy's poor physical condition. He didn't know when he would be back and wanted Tommy to be cared for even if that meant having us find him a better home ❤️
Tommy is a gem. He did not let how those awful people treated him to affect his love for life and all who are in it. He is always so happy to see us, as his tail never stops wagging. He is very deserving of a brand new life whether with a family, or just one person/couple who are looking to spoil him and love him the way he deserves every single day moving forward.
His adoption fee along with its breakdown is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org. Click on listings, then click on available for adoption and that's where you will find his post.
