My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***AT SHELTER***

Orange is the new black!

Gorgeous orange tabbies never go out of style. From Garfield to Puss in Boots, they've charmed us and captured our hearts with their winning ways. Sweet Wesley is proudly carrying on that tradition by becoming a fan favourite with everyone he meets!

Easygoing and sociable, Wesley is often the centre of attention. He tugs at your heartstrings with a medley of meows to get head pets and chin scratches, and then rewards you with purrs and a cuddle in your lap. He's confident around people and curious about his surroundings. He loves to explore the shelter in his "out time" from the kennels, to catch up on the latest news with his shelter mates, and to get in a little playtime. He enjoys himself so much that volunteers have to lure him back to his kennel with a trail of treats!

While Wesley is gentle, friendly, and affectionate most of the time, the people around him need to be aware that he is prone to overstimulation. This may take the form of sudden, unexpected reactive behaviour like nips, bites, and scratches. Wesley is doing very well now on medication to tame his tabby tantrums, and he is expected to remain on it long term. His ideal adopter is an experienced cat owner who will know how to read Wesley's body language and respect his need for a bit of downtime. Wesley would do best in a single-cat household where his forever family can give him all the love and attention that he deserves. He's not used to living with small children and or other pets.

To assist Wesley and his adoptive family successfully transition to a forever home, EHS will offer a short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Wesley and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably together.

Wesley is a classic, timeless kitty who wants to be someone's stylish companion for life. Could you be the one he's waiting for? Find out by filling out an adoption application today!
