Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
According to Wikipedia, Barney Rubble, the cartoon character, is the diminutive, blond-haired caveman husband of Betty Rubble and adoptive father of Bamm-Bamm Rubble. His best friend is his next-door neighbor, Fred. Our Barney Rubble is a diminutive, blonde-haired Terrier Mix looking for his very own Modern Stone Age family. If your name is Fred, Wilma, or Betty, please apply. If you are named something else, please apply!
Barney's previous owner passed away suddenly, and their family members took what dogs they could, but Barney and his sister Libby didn't make the cut. Both he and Libby were very scared in the chaotic environment of the shelter, and when they asked us for help, we said, "Of course!" Since joining the rescue, Barney has settled into the routine of his foster home and resumed the pet life he was accustomed to in the past. He loves playing with toys, chasing a ball, and then resting on the back of the couch while looking out the window.
Barney's prior training as a pet means he is potty trained and walks well on a leash, but spending time in a kennel is not something he enjoys. He can do it, but not quietly if he senses you are home. We are working on it, though, and in time, he will find the kennel relaxing. His future family should know that it’s not quite a sure thing yet, and they may need to continue making the kennel a positive experience.
Barney gets along with other dogs but has yet to be cat-tested. He’d be okay with a dog-savvy cat if we had to make a guess. Barney loves everyone he meets but can be shy upon first greeting. After a tentative sniff, he’s all about snuggles and kisses. Due to his diminutive size, Barney would do well in a home with children nine years old and up.
Barney has been neutered, had his teeth cleaned, and is current on his vaccinations. If you think he’d fit in with your Modern Stone Age Family, apply today! Until then, we will do our best to teach him to say Yabba Dabba Doo!T
he suggested adoption donation for Barney Rubble is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.
Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
