Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
WHEN APPLYING FOR THIS PUPPY KNOW THAT HIS LIFE SPAN IS 12-14 YEARS AND PLEASE TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHERE YOU WILL BE AT IN 12-14 YEARS
Sonny is a sweet, playful and independent little guy. He is extremely intelligent and has spent the last 5 weeks learning to trust adults and exploring his new environment. He has really come out of his shell over the past few weeks. He went from seeking constant shelter in his kennel to now seeking human attention and even affection. Just this week, he started sitting with us on the couch, getting lots of pets and scratches on all his favorite spots.
Sonny is highly treat motivated and he will attempt most things for a treat. Sonny also absolutely loves two things, running outside and trying to get his foster brother to play with him. Sonny must have a playful companion resident dog who he can play with and pal around with everyday and a fenced yard.
Sonny is potty trained and kennel trained. We have not yet tried walking or leash training and he still needs to work on basic commands.
His fur-ever family must be patient and understand his continued need to work on trusting people and learning all about being a spoiled pup!
The suggested adoption donation for Sonny is a minimum of $700 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
