I’m a tripod!
Sweet Destiny can't wait to meet her Forever Family! After previous trauma to her leg didn’t heal properly, she had to have it amputated. She’s a tripod, but she doesn’t let that stop her! Although she can't “make as many biscuits” (knead) as before, she doesn’t let it slow her down; she continues to catch up on her pretend orders when she's snuggling with you.
Because of her previous injury she will need to continue taking joint supplements to prevent arthritis in her other joints. She will also need to be in a home that can help her get up and especially down from things (maybe even put some steps near her favorite spot!) so she doesn’t accidentally lose her balance. Otherwise she loves to snuggle in boxes/enclosed spaces, and on her bed! She will also need a restricted diet to prevent obesity. Destiny has great litterbox etiquette.
Destiny loves to snuggle, and once she’s comfortable, she’s a lap cat. She'd be a great companion for an older person or even just a calm home with a friendly, furry friend. Destiny came to us when she was pregnant, and now that her kittens have all found their forever homes, it's her turn. Her foster mom says that she has really come out of her shell and is even starting to play with toys. She also will carry on a conversation with you while purring very loudly. Destiny loves the family cat and gets along just fine (!) with the family dog, a pit-mix. With other pets, we suggest a slow introduction (a few days at least) since Destiny is, at first, Very timid.
Maybe you and she are destined to be together? Fill out an Adoption Application to meet Destiny and to see how her being a tripod doesn't get in the way of her being an active, sweet cat!
Anyone interested in our dogs/cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our dogs/cats will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs), FeLV/FIV tested (cats), microchipped, and current on vaccinations.
We do not adopt on a first-come first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in our homes with us so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors. Home visits may be required prior to adoption approval.
