Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Freddie. He's been a long term foster with one of my CA rescue people and the owner finally agreed to let him be adopted 'up north.' Freddie is not quite two years old and about 13#. He's in foster with a family that previously had an Italian Greyhound and thinks for sure, Freddie is a lot of that breed. He's probably got a bit of Chihuahua thrown in. He has lived with other dogs, and is your typical small dog - loves to be on your lap. He's a little aloof of the resident dogs. Because he's wee, we think an adult home would be his best fit.
His foster family said: We just love Freddie, he’s a sweetie. I think he would do amazing in a stay at home family or someone who works from home. He’s very cautious about a lot of things, especially outside. He's been doing great with the crate while we are gone. In the couple weeks we’ve had him, he’s gotten better on leash and even simply having a harness on and waiting to potty outside. I think he’s just unsure of himself and a little bit of confidence training would be amazing for him, a dedicated person that loves the Italian greyhound personality... he would thrive. He is the best snuggle bug!
This dog is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. We are getting him a dental this week - he was not on the best food... and we want to get that taken care of before he goes home. Many rescue dogs need patience when transitioning to a new home. Our foster homes try to socialize each dog with other dogs, cats, kids, etc. We have made recommendations on their best home placement based on our foster home information. Freddie is sleeping in his crate and will need housebreaking reminders. The foster has been working on leash manners and lots of socializing.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Adoption fee is $325. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
