Dashel (born 7/31/2021) is an almost 90-pound, black, white and brown, Bernese Mountain Dog. He arrived at the Society with Leptospirosis and Lyme disease – which required several months of medical treatment to clear. Dashel is now healthy and ready for his new home. He is looking for a house with a yard and a home where they have large dog breed experience and time to spend with him. Dashel is housebroken, enjoys eating, loves having his coat brushed, going for walks and being with people.

We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us.
