My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snuggles, (aka Wittle, because she was so little when we rescued her), also known as Baby Girl (which she loves), came to us while nursing kittens. At the time she was only approx, 7 months old. She found shelter in a fox or groundhog den in the ground under boulders in the woods and would go there after eating. When she finally let us trap her, she was finishing nursing kittens according to the vet, and it became apparent that the kittens drowned during the torrential rainstorms here in New Jersey in July, 2023.

We had her spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FELV/FIV, dewormed, she did not have ear mites or fleas, and she is microchipped.

Snuggles LOVES to be cuddled in her cat bed and kissed all over and even gives us her belly! She is cross-eyed and does not seem to jump high, but otherwise does not seem to have any visual impairments. She loves the laser light, and for us to dangle ropes and make them move on the ground like they are snakes.

Snuggles is elusive but when she gets to know you, she just wants to sit on your lap and snuggle. She currently lives most of the day in her cage because she does not like other cats, therefore she should be the only cat in the home. She comes up to you for petting and fusses when you pick her up but then settles quickly. She is a quiet, calm cat who loves to search for mice and is extremely gentle.

Snuggles would be a great kitty to snuggle in a bed with a person and would be a good kitty for someone who works from home or is home most of the day. She is gentle and would be fine with a responsible child but we must give her time to get used to being held.

Additional adoption info

We require a pre-adoption application which supplies information to us about the type of cat that would be suitable for the adopter and the home environment.

We visit the home with our cats (cats that interest the adopter, and cats that we believe may be a good match for the adopter). We have a leisurely visit with the potential adopter and we all observe the reactions of the cats with the people, and reactions of the people to the cats.

Our fees are usually below $100 and all cats are sterilized, have received age-appropriate vaccinations, were tested for FELV/FIV, wormed, treated for fleas, and most are microchipped.

We do not allow declawing of our cats, and all cats are adopted as indoor-only pets. Under certain circumstances we will adopt out cats that are suitable as barn cats.

Go meet their pets

Adopters can visit cats in their foster homes, and all arrangements are made with the foster family as to date and time of visit.

Private, in-home visits, can also be arranged in the adopter's home, especially if several cats are appealing to the adopter.

More about this rescue

We are all volunteers in this group. Donations allow us to continue our work so that thousands of kittens are not born every year to feral and stray cats.

We organized this group because we do not agree that killing healthy animals is the answer to the pet population problem. We also believe that feral cats have the right to live. We provide education and assistance to people that want to trap cats and get them sterilized and vaccinated.

We make ourselves available to the independent feral cat caretaker, and independent cat owner, and help publicize their adoptable kittens and cats on our web site and at fund raising events.

During the last several years, our organization has prevented hundreds of thousands of kitten births, and helped find hundreds of homes for cats and kittens.
