BIO:
Hi all, I'm Pita, another Texas gal found as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter. Since Texas has the highest rate of animal euthanasia in the nation, I consider myself lucky indeed to have been rescued by FTF and brought to Chicago to find my forever home.

My foster mom says I'm a sweet and loving pooch whose favorite things are giving hugs and kisses and getting lots of pets. I've discovered how much fun it is to go on walks. My leash manners are improving by the day, and I'm quite the social butterfly, always interested in meeting new people and pooches of all ages and sizes. While car rides were a new experience for me, I'm getting the hang of being the backseat navigator (everyone needs one of those-right?!). As I recover from heartworm treatment, I do need to be kept calm until cleared by the vet. But I can't wait for the day when I can be more active-perhaps joining you on long hikes and/or jogs.

A few final facts about me. I'm potty trained, settle quickly in my crate, and don't chew on anything that doesn't belong to me. My weak point is food possessiveness. My foster mom is working with me with that, and I'm doing better. With your continued help, and the obedience classes you'll sign us up for (required for all young FTF pups), I know I'll break that bad habit in no time.

So this is what you can expect if you adopt me into your home-a loving and gentle canine companion who will give you more love and happiness than you could ever imagine. Interested? Then please complete an adoption application and schedule a meet and greet. I believe we're destined to have a wonderful life together!

Love and licks,
Pita

If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
