Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
We are still learning more and more about her. Here’s what we have observed so far– She was a mama herself, and looks like she has given birth to a litter of pups recently. She is a loose leash walker and leash trained already, which means walks will be enjoyable for you both. She can get a little scared at loud noises, but with a confident nudge and reassurance, she can carry on. She’d love an understanding and patient owner to allow her lots of time to decompress.
Super Nova loves getting her hair brushed, is very playful and likes her play yard time to hop into the doggy pool, chase a ball, or just sniff and explore. She’s smart and knows Sit already, and because she is treat motivated, we think she will be very impressionable when it comes to learning more commands in her forever home.
Best of all, this mature lady is house trained. This is sure to bring ease to her forever home. She is available for both foster and adoption, and would love time away from the shelter. After giving birth to a litter of pups herself, she deserves to be pampered and taken care of! Can you be her hero?

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
