Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alec – Available Shih Tzu/Miniature Poodle Mix
3 years old, 20 pound neutered male
• Active, friendly, playful with other willing dogs
• Fetches toy or ball (when in the mood)
• Loves his raw vegetable snacks, especially broccoli
• Sleeps with his human
• Uses his human as just another couch pillow
Alec, the little cutie, is looking for his forever home & looking forward to his long hair growing back. He came to us with his hair painfully matted all over & had to be shaved.
A playful, affectionate 3 year old, 20 lb. Shih Tzu/Miniature Poodle mix boy, Alec likes going for walks & exploring the yard. Alec is generally a fan of people and likes to sleep with his human. He can be shy at first, but with time, treats & maybe a soft or squeaky toy, Alec shows his friendly side.
Alec gets along with the dogs in his foster home. He runs & plays a little with the big & medium size guys. There are no large dogs or cats in his foster home. Alec might need some time before being comfortable with a big dog; with a laid back big dog that time could be short. He would likely not present a danger to cats, but a resident cat might be annoyed by Alec’s interest.
Alec likes to play chase with another dog or 2 inside or outside. Alec is often in the mood to fetch a toy inside or out. In all weather, Alec does often prefer you to be outside with him. Alec would like a family regularly to take him for walks for exercise & nose work (he is not a marker). With his above average energy & hunter’s instinct, a small dog secure fenced yard is a plus. Loud & proud, Alec might not be a good fit in an apartment or condo.
Alec is house trained, neutered, microchipped & up to date on his vaccinations. He will use a pee pad when the polar vortex sticks around.
Alec will require regular professional grooming to keep him looking handsome & comfortably mat-free. So please keep this in mind when considering adopting him.
Alec’s adoption fee is $500.
