Karlie was found abandoned in an Austin neighborhood. The finder posted her pic and details but no one came forward to claim her. She is a little girl who we are guessing is right around a year old as of January, 2024. Karlie has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV, she is now spayed and is current on shots. We are looking for a loving, patient indoor home for this sweet girl. Her adoption fee is $80 with an approved adoption application. You must be 21 to adopt from MCHS and a cat carrier is required at the time of adoption. To meet Karlie or any of our cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
