My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I was adopted as a puppy from Colonial Capital Humane Society. Now, at 4 years old, I find himself back at the shelter due to a my family getting divorced.

The Shelter environment is not for me. I am very sad and confused and am quickly searching for my forever home. Although stressed in my current situation, outside of the shelter I am totally different dog. am a very sweet & gentle guy. I am great with both dogs & kids. The adoption application is located on our website. Home visits will be made and vet references must be provided. There is an adoption fee on all animals that helps to offset the cost of veterinary care and spay/neuter of the animal.

To view the dogs, please fill out an application and we will schedule a time that works for you!

Our shelter is located at 1860 Old Airport Road in New Bern, NC. We are open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12-6pm to view cats.

Kitten adoption events are held most Saturdays at PetSmart (Wal-Mart shopping center) in New Bern from 11am - 2pm.
