My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌟 Meet Winston: The Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold! 🐾

Well, howdy there! I'm Winston, and I'm not just a big guy; I've got a personality to match that's as grand as my size. At a whopping 105 pounds, I'm quite the gentle giant. Here's a bit about me:

👋 Excitement Overload: Let's Play Tug 'O War with Leashes!
When it's time for walks, I can hardly contain my excitement. I've been known to mistake my leash for a tug 'o war opponent! I've been diligently working on breaking this habit with our kennel staff, and I'll need my future family to help continue the hard work.

🐾 Toy Enthusiast: Big Stuffed Toys and Rope Toys Are Tops!
Big stuffed toys and rope toys are my jam! They keep me entertained and bring out my playful side. Tug, fetch, or just some good old-fashioned chewing – I'm up for it all!

👐 Butt Rub Fanatic: Scratch That Itch!
You want to make my day? Give me some butt rubs! I absolutely adore them, and they're my ticket to bliss.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 People Person: Hanging Out with You is the Best
I'm a social butterfly, and I thrive on human company. Whether we're going for walks, playing with toys, or simply lounging around, I'm happiest when I'm with my people.

🦮 Training Adventure: Learning to Walk Like a Pro
Walking politely on a leash is a skill I'm still mastering. I might need a strong handler to help me with this, but I'm eager to learn and make progress every day.

🏡 Ready for a Family: Could We Be a Perfect Match?
Do I sound like I might be a good fit for your family? There's only one way to find out – come on by, and let's meet each other. I'm Winston, the big-hearted pit bull ready to bring joy, excitement, and plenty of tail wags into your home. Let's make memories together! 🐶❤️

Additional adoption info

Find the pet for you at the Adoption Center:
Angels of Assisi’s adoption center is open from 12-6pm, 7 days a week. Adoption Specialists and Volunteer Ambassadors are eager to help you find the pet that would fit best in your family.

Adoptable Pets in Foster Homes:
Some of our available pets are currently in foster homes. If an animal is currently in a foster home, it is noted in the animal's biography online. To meet a pet in foster care, please fill out a non-binding adoption application, and the foster parent will contact you to schedule a meet and greet once the application has been approved (generally within 24 hours).

Found the perfect addition to your family? Now what?
The next step is to fill out an adoption application. You can complete and application online (preferred) or stop by the adoption center to fill out a paper application. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. If you rent your home, we will need to contact your landlord or see a copy of your lease to verify the pet policy. Most applications can be approved within 24-48 hours.

Taking Your New Pet Home
After paying the adoption fee and pending the approval of your application, you may take your new pet home immediately. Adoption fees may vary and can be found on our website at:
