My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gabby is a 16-month-old terrier mix who has been in foster care for roughly 6 months and lived alongside 3 dogs and 1 cat. Gabby loves being outdoors, walks, running laps, chasing a ball, admiring the neighbor`s chickens, or chasing small critters and birds (thankfully not the chickens and cats). Gabby often matches the energy of other dogs and has performed well in daycare settings. With new humans, she takes some time to trust and warm up, but then she is the biggest softy and wants nothing more than to snuggle up on the couch for an evening of TV or reading. Gabby is housebroken, kennel trained, and knows some commands such as Sit and Paw. She would do better in a home with a fenced in yard and freedom to roam, run, and play to her heart`s content. All in all, Gabby is a sweetheart who would do great in any size household given time to trust and acclimate.

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
