My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Montgomery, Texas
DOB: 07/22/2023

Hi! I’m still with my owner right now. I’m looking for a foster (fosters get first option to adopt!). This way the team can get to know me better and get an all clear from the vet. Read my bio below!

Drips is a stunning black dog with a unique blend of Great Dane and Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Her current family has other dogs that she has been raised with and done well. While she hasn't ventured much beyond the comfort of those canine companions, she has proven to be good with the household cats, showing only a bit of curiosity and a playful bark when they venture onto counters, but ultimately losing interest.

Drips is yet to meet kids. With proper slow introductions she should do ok, but she is a a large breed and has to learn manners so that should be taken into serious consideration. Shy when meeting new people, this sweet girl takes her time to warm up, but does enjoy the attention she receives once she feels comfortable.. House training is a work in progress, with daily improvements. She is definitely on the right path

Unlike some of her canine counterparts, Drips hasn't been introduced to crate training. Instead, she has her own room in the house, a safe haven where she can retreat and feel secure. She delights in her favorite treats, displaying a love for apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, and a pumpkin yogurt mix. Her discerning palate adds to her charm.

She is a curious explorer and a natural problem solver. Her inquisitive nature keeps her engaged and active.. Despite her shy demeanor, she's a sweet and loving companion who craves attention. If you find yourself wanting to shower her with love and affection, be prepared for her to express her gratitude by jumping up for attention, a charming quirk but she's still learning manners remember.

This sweet girl is eager to continue learning, growing, and sharing her love with a family that understands her shy nature and appreciates her unique blend of breeds. With patience and kindness, Drips is sure to blossom into an even more wonderful companion, ready to fill a home with warmth and affection.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
