My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves...we're Wendy and Winnie! We came to Second Chance almost 8 months ago super scared, shy and sassy. We loved each other, but not other cats. We tolerated some pets, but didn't enjoy them. Well, look at us now! We've popped out of our shells and are basically different cats (kinda like when they replace a character on TV mid-season...like we're not going to notice!). Anyway, now that we're nice, can we pretty please have a home?

Wendy has always been the more tolerant one, and now she's just a full-blown couch potato and snuggle lover. Each time she gets head rubs or ear scratches, she enjoys them more and more. Her favorite spot is a cozy bed adjacent to her new friend Figgy Pudding. Those two could snooze the day away!

Winnie, our once hissy girl who thought humans were pure evil, is now brave as can be and making both human and cat friends. She still retreats up to the cat walk when she gets overwhelmed, but that's ok! She's still working on becoming ultra chill like her sister.

We're so proud of these gorgeous gals for learning to trust us in such a crazy environment, and for branching out from being stuck at the hip. They're still not the most outgoing cats, but they sure do have the potential to be! Come meet them and see for yourself. Wendy and Winnie are available for the adoption donation of one cat. They're both just over a year old, spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Fill out an application at the sanctuary or www.secondchanceas.org/adopt (Inquiries on online listings don't constitute an application)

2.

Interview

We will call your veterinarian and personal references. We'll also call you if we have questions or need more information.

3.

Approve Application

We will approve or deny the application. You may be approved to adopt, but not necessarily the same animal you originally applied for.

4.

Meet the Pet

This may be done before applying. You'll be asked to sign an adoption contract and to make a certain donation amount, rather than a set fee.

Additional adoption info

We are passionate about pairing animals in need with loving families who would best suit their individual needs. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
