Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Champ-ersaurus, the big, gentle dinosaur dog who will steal your heart with just one wag of his tail. Despite his intimidating size, Champ is a lover, not a fighter, and is always eager to please his human companions. He's a quick learner, too - he knows how to sit and shake on command! Even though he was picked up as a stray, we can tell he’s had human interaction, he's potty-trained & used to being in a house and a yard. He doesn’t like the crate, yet isn’t destructive when left alone at his fosters home. He loves to get on the bed and is the happiest when he’s there. He loves kisses and snuggles and will normally take over the whole bed when he’s allowed up.
While Champ is dog-friendly, he will give a few passive warnings if he is confronted with aggression from another dog. He does well with evenly matched dogs & likes having a play pal. Camp has had the most fun romping in the yard with some of the younger pups and plays gently with them. Champ doesn’t care much for cats & is not the best fit for a household with feline friends.
Champ is definitely a people-dog - he prefers human companionship. If you're his owner, you're the apple of his eye! He's leash-trained and very calm on walks, even when encountering other dogs. And he loves going for car rides - he won't jump out unless invited to do so! At the shelter he was a volunteer favorite and gave the best hugs when they would come to visit him. Camp doesn't care if you are a man or a woman, he loves them all. He likes treats and takes them with ease.
While Champ is a calm and well-behaved dog, his excitement can override his listening skills. We think he would do much better in a home with children over the age of ten, as he may accidentally knock them over or get a little too passionate with his zoomies. A yard and room to run would be fantastic for Champ.
Champ loves toys, but he's not sure what a ball is for - he's more of a slow-moving tank than an athlete! He'll jog or run alongside you if you ask him to, but he's not very athletic and prefers to take things at his own pace. Maybe morning coffee in the yard where he can zoom or rest as he so desires!
Champ-ersaurus is a wonderful dog who just wants to be loved and approved of by his humans. If you're looking for a big, loving dog to join your family, Champ is that guy. He will be an easy add to a home with another pup, or a fun family looking for a new addition.
