My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please email all inquiries to thecopaceticcat@yahoo.com. The Copacetic Cat is based in Darke County but offers initial meet and greet video chats through Facebook or Zoom.

Nero is a very skittish, sensitive boy. He does not seek out pets from his people, though he will accept some during dinner time or if you catch him sleeping. He’ll need a special person who understands he’s timid. He loves to play and will chase a wand toy. He just needs more one-on-one time than he’s been given being a part of a large group of fosters. He’s been neutered, combo tested negative and is fully vaccinated and litter trained.

Nero would do better if adopted with his pal Conan. They’re not bonded but do enjoy each other’s company greatly, and having a friend in a new home would help Nero acclimate. Dogs and children would not be ideal for this nervous fellow. A quiet home would be best.

Additional adoption info

Adoption requirements include an application that tells us something about the adoptive family and authorizes us to contact the family's vet for references, a phone or in-person interview, and at the director's discretion, home visitation. We provide an adoption contract that lists the animal's current and anticipated health care and delineates the owner's and our responsibilities. Each kitten has a 2-week satisfaction guarantee which provides a full refund for animals returned within the 2-week time frame. Our typical adoption fees are $200 per Siamese Wannabe and $250 per Siamese mixes and Siamese and some others.

More about this rescue

We are a small, grass-roots volunteer effort dedicated to easing the problems faced by unwanted Siamese cats and kittens and their non-Siamese cousins. We use foster homes for our animals to provide them with a warm and loving environment from which to be adopted; we give all of our animals excellent vet care to ensure they have a good start in life. We offer education and advice on cat care and cat behavior issues; we provide courtesy listings for adoptable pets for free on our web site. We provide support to indigent owners (emergency food and vet care assistance) as we are able and offer advice and assistance on resolving landlord pet issues (including ADA therapy pet designation). We are dedicated to making life easier for the animals who love and trust us and look to us for their safety, security, and happiness. The problems are large and we are small but we try hard to make a difference for cats at risk.
