Nala is a sweet, quirky lab-mix who has endured significant trauma in her young life. She's slowly learning how to trust and allow humans to love on her. She has a sweet disposition with people she knows. She still has growing to do... she'll walk fine on a leash, however putting her collar or harness on can be a challenge. Baseball caps cause her to have a very negative reaction even if she's comfortable with the individual. It is best to allow her to come to you when she's ready. She gently takes treats from your hand. We believe she will love having a friend, but at this point, her fear holds her back from interacting with other dogs. With the right kind of training, she'll be an amazing companion!

Meet Nala! The almost 2 yr old Labrador who came in with a litter of puppies who have since been adopted and now she’s waiting for her turn to find a forever home. Nala was originally from a hoarding case with other dogs and after being rescued she is still dealing with some socializing and exposure she didn't receive previously. She currently is in a foster home with no other animals, but with slow introductions might be able to co-exist with any resident pets.HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.
