Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meadow is an intelligent treat motivated gal. It doesn’t take her long to pick up on new tricks or routines. She loves attention both from humans and dogs of all sizes. She does great on a leash and would surely love to walk, hike, even run with you. Meadow came to us as a neglect case, and was emaciated when she arrived last December. When she came to us she was just over 1 years old and had clearly missed out on those crucial young puppy training months. Meadow is petite, but a thicker gal and she is nippy. We are currently working on this behavior by redirecting with things she’s allowed to chew on like toys. With how smart she is and her people pleasing drive we feel like this is something she could learn with the right pet parent willing to put in the effort. We feel that Meadow would thrive best in a home with an active couple, or person, who has no human kids but may be dog parents.

Thank you for choosing to look for your new pet at the SHS!
There are always many wonderful and loving animals available for adoption. Dogs and cats are most common, but small animals, like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters, as well as large animals, like horses, are also in need of a new home.
We are open six days a week, making it convenient for you to stop by for a visit.
Why adopt from the SHS?
The Spartanburg community continues to produce many thousands of unwanted animals every year.
As the only open admission animal shelter in the county, the Adopt Your New Best Friend! SHS provides for the temporary needs of these pets. But we need your help to provide them with permanent homes!
Adoption fees offer incredible value at $85 for dogs and $49 for cats. These fees include spay or neuter surgery, permanent microchip identification, as well as many other perks.
We also offer low-cost veterinary services for adopters. In other words, we are committed to your match being a success!
Just as importantly, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped to give a loving animal a much deserved second chance.
Remember, you will need some supplies for your new pet. You can purchase much of what you will need at the Spartanburg Humane Society Save-A-Pet Store, and all proceeds benefit the homeless animals in our care.
