My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Cyrus

I'm a handsome, mellow, independent guy. The strong silent type (mostly).

I like the simple things in life:
A daily walk
Snoozing in the sunshine
Relaxing outside
Chewing my blanket
Evenings in front of the TV working on a treat filled Kong.
I'm housebroken but not crate trained. I don't like to be confined to a small crate, but I am good and not destructive when I'm left alone in the house.
I like car rides
I walk well on a leash and enjoy exploring the neighborhood.
I like most dogs, regardless of their size. I played well with lots of different dogs at the shelter, and now I have 3 dog friends in my foster home. I'm the best of both worlds, because I'm also able to be happy and content when I'm alone.
I don't have much experience with cats, so the folks at the shelter are unsure how I would feel about them. I tend to be pretty laid back overall.

My foster mom says there are a couple things I must have that would help me live my best life.
I will need an adult only home with people who have experience with my breed. I'm a husky through and through, and my best life will be with people who understand me.
I will need a home with a yard that has a 6 foot fence. I love spending time outside, so this is an absolute must. Apartment living would not allow me to be my happiest self.
I need someone who is patient and understands that I may need a little extra time to adjust to my new people and surroundings. I would be happiest if I could hang out at home when my people are out doing social human things because busy places can be stressful for me. It takes me a little bit to trust new people in my life, so I would like someone willing to dedicate the time and effort to continue with my training.

If I sound like a pup you'd like to meet, please contact Animal Friends Alliance and fill out an application.
