Intake Date: 12 January 2024 ---- Adopted 30 June 2024 ----- Returned to Rescue 1 Dec 2024 -------- Age at Intake: 1 years ----- Breed: GSD ----- Size: 45 lbs ----- Status: Pound Pull ----- Compatible with: Dogs, older children. Haven't cat tested ----- Suitable for: home with a fenced yard ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: none noted ----- Additional Notes: Welcome January! This shy girl was found extremely emaciated. She wound up at the pound and was unclaimed. She was all sorts of a mess. Her stomach was rough from eating garbage and whatever she could find so it was a long road getting past the diarrhea and getting her regular and eating well. We finally have solid stools and a great appetite! The pound staff did a great job getting some weight build up on her too. We do believe there is some abuse in her past as she gets pretty nervous with certain things around her neck and waist however we are working to desensitize her and gain trust. She deserves a committed and loving home.

Update: January was adopted but started exhibiting some concerning behaviors to include snapping. We gladly took her back and have had her evaluated by a trainer. She is currently in a board and train and doing beautifully. Her adoption fee has been partially sponsored and reduced to $50 AND she goes to her adoptive home with free training lessons with a professional and licensed trainer!

Adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is prioritized.
