My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tori, a young, vibrant girl who is eager to explore the world. She`s a ball of energy, always ready to play and turn anything into a toy. She loves running, walks, and chase. She`ll always hop right into your car for a ride. She loves treats - especially the Kebobs brand - but she`ll appreciate anything. Her goofy antics and funny personality will keep you entertained. Tori is not just playful, she`s also a sweetheart who loves to cuddle and show affection. She loves being petted and thinks she is the perfect lap dog as she weighs only 56 pounds. Tori is a social butterfly and she loves to be around other dogs. Around them she is easygoing, friendly, playful, and respectful. She has joyously played with six dogs at one time! She has lived near cats and doesn`t mind them but has never really been up close and personal. In a recent foster home, she learned the come, no, and down commands she might have forgotten. She keeps her crate clean but may need help with house training. She is now much better at leash training but can become excitable and want to lead a bit. She has experience with teenagers but not children. She is friendly and playful with everyone but does love to jump. Her curiosity about the world around her is infectious. She is the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and appreciates a dog with a big personality and an eagerness to please. Adopting lovable Tori means bringing home a bundle of joy and laughter. (tw 11/4/2024)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
