Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Frogger!
Frogger is an approximately 11-month-old pittie mix that came to us after being hit by a car. After being picked up by a Good Samaritan, he was quickly taken to the vet and scanned for a microchip. While this sweet boy was microchipped, and the old owners contacted, upon contacting him, he simply said “I don’t care”. This sweet boy was discarded like trash with a severely broken leg, but his spirits never once dropped. After consulting with his vets, it was decided that it would be in Frogger’s best interest to have the leg amputated, as the chance of healing properly was very low.
Luckily, sweet Frogger has healed wonderfully from his surgery, and has been neutered and brought up to date on all vaccines! He is negative for heartworms and all tick-borne diseases, and has been cleared by his vet to find his forever home!
While being in a foster home, this sweet boy has shown what an absolute lover he is. He absolutely loves to be loved on and fussed over, and has greatly enjoyed being babied while he recovers from surgery. He has gotten along wonderfully with all the dogs, cats, and even chickens in his foster home, so he would make a wonderful companion in just about any home!
Frogger loves to be social. He is very well kennel and house trained, but would benefit from general obedience training. His foster family is working on recall and wait right now. He would likely benefit from having another playful, confident dog in the house, as he would benefit from having another dog to learn from. He seems to get along with all dog personalities well, but needs a companion that will tolerate his very high energy.
Frogger would thrive with a family that is often on the move! He’d make a great hiking or walking companion, as he needs an outlet for all his energy! Frogger will need a fenced in yard in his forever home, as he loves to explore and run (even on three legs!). Other than that, he is a perfect gentleman!
If you’d like to make Frogger part of your forever family, you can fill out an adoption application at www.lexpitcrew.org/adopt. His adoption fee is sponsored, so there is no cost to his future adopter!
