Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Veronica, also known as “Ronica”, “Ronni”, and “Football Season”… she came to us after I saw her pop out of a bush!
One block away from home, I saw a little football pop out of a bush, and wander into a parking lot of an apartment complex.
I stopped by, and went to knock on the door of the apartment she sat outside of. I was certain, this was their dog, and she just had snuck out unnoticed…
The family told me, it was not their dog, and that she had been camped out there for the last few weeks. It was clear they were feeding her, but she was just another stray that no one was coming for.
Veronica, had a mighty bark, and wouldn’t let me get close to her. The woman that had been feeding her, asked if I wanted to take her with me, and if I did, she could catch her! Of course I said yes, and the woman quickly cornered little Ronni behind her car- when she re appeared she had managed to catch Ronica in a box, and supplied her with a small crocheted blanket.
It took little Ronica about 3 days to warm up to us, and then it was off to the races! She is so much fun!!! Ronica has the tiniest legs, and runs faster than any little dog we have! She gets along great with the other littles, but definitely holds the “alpha” position. When someone unfamiliar is on the other side of the fence, she postures up, and struts around the perimeter, to ensure no stranger danger enters the yard. Veronica would love a family that has other small dogs for her to play with, but she would also be ok being the queen bee/only child.
*We do not adopt any of our dogs to families with children under the age of 15, for the safety of our dogs.
