Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
8 years old and blind, Guero was surrendered by his family to Harbor Shelter in Los Angeles which was at maximum capacity. Kennel workers saw how special Guero was and kept him in a shower stall to buy him some time until he could be adopted or rescued. Their plan worked! On January 25th, Guero became a Frosted Face. He is a perfect mid-sized boy at only 53 lbs. and is super sweet.
Guero currently lives in a Foster home after being on several two-week Frosted Flings.
At every stay, Guero has earned praise for being great with young children, house-trained, gentle, quiet, and trustworthy when home alone. Guero knows his name and responds with a wagging tail every time it it said! Although blind, he manages to learn his new surroundings quickly.
We think Guero may have lived outside most his life. He LOVES it outside, he just wants to chill in the dirt and sleep. He doesn't make a sound; we have yet to hear him bark. He sits still and cooperates when he needs to have his eye drops in.
Guero is a sweetheart that just wants someone to make him feel safe. In return, he will greet you with his entire body in a wag and quietly return to his bed. He will need a patient adopter who will help him through his fears and speak in a calm manner around him. He may take a little time to get comfortable with you, but once he does, he responds with tail wags and rolling over for belly rubs as seen in his video!
His Foster Mom shares:
"Guero is still looking for his forever home, and he wants me to let you know what would be a good home for him.
* Guero is the best boy. He gives kisses, loves meeting new people, loooves going for walks. He's never had an accident or marked in the house.
* A quiet home would be good because loud noises are scary for him.
* Probably no cats because once a community cat got too close to him and he tried his darndest to chase that cat!
* He would like a dog friend or friends (someone to show him the ropes.)
* Guero wanted me to make sure to let people know he needs a little bit of dirt to dig holes in (it's his hobby!)
Seeing Guero respond to the love and kindness he has always deserved but not received is so special. All he needs now is a forever home! Might it be with you?
If this gentle soul's story speaks to you, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule a time to meet him.
