My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Chauncey! Life's a game and I'm always ready to play. My days are filled with curiosity and boundless energy. I love exploring every nook and cranny of my surroundings, sniffing out exciting new scents. My bright eyes light up at the sight of a new toy or the sound of a friendly voice. I'm not just all play though, I've got a heart full of love and I'm eager to share it. I'm ready to bring joy and laughter into your life. Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who'll be by your side through thick and thin. Won't you consider making me a part of your family?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
