My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amora is looking for their forever home!

WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Well hi there!!! I'm Amora! I'm a little girl with the widest smile and the most beautiful silver coat and green eyes. I am around 38 pounds and my foster mama doesn't think I'll get much bigger--you might think of me as a fancy lil' pocket pittie! While I could still benefit from learning some more commands and tricks, I have the biggest trick of them all down, I am pretty flawless at doing my business outside, and, with continued positive reinforcement, I should only need a few reminders while transitioning to my forever home!

Regarding temperament, I am just about the sweetest cuddle bug you'll ever meet. I LOVE being close to my humans and snuggling on the couch. I make it my mission to fit into the smallest couch crevices available, as I must show my humans how much I adore them. With strangers and new environments, I can be on the shyer side and can sometimes need extra encouragement when I get nervous, so please be ready to advocate for me if I get a little scared-all I will need are a few pets and some reassurance that everything is okay. While I love people, small children can sometimes overwhelm me, so I'd prefer to be in a home with adults and older children. With regards to other dogs, I LOVE them. I live with my foster mom and dad's pups, they have 2 girls and 1 boy, ranging from 25lbs to 85lbs. I get along really well with them all! I take cues from older dogs well, and I know how to respect dogs' boundaries.

True to my age, I have lots of energy and am eager to bounce, play, chew on toys, and wrestle with my foster siblings. But! lucky for you, a little exercise goes a long way, and I am normally knocked out once the sun goes down.

More about this rescue

Laila's Legacy missions is to ensure every homeless dog - including those with behavioral or physical challenges - that comes through our doors has a chance at a better life while educating the public on breed bias, individualistic training, and the importance of spay-neuter to lower the impact of returned and abandoned animals in shelters.
