Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bunny is an extremely cute, super smart, energetic 5 month old, 10 pound, miniature Poodle puppy. She is ALL about running, playing, chewing and wrestling with her foster brother when not snuggling with her foster. Bunny is great with a bath and trimming, is 100% housebroken when kept on her schedule. She is clean in her crate overnight.
Bunny was released by a commercial breeder as she was too old to sell. Puppies in commercial kennels often lack normal socialization so Bunny was shy when she came to us but she is now playing and racing around the house and yard. Bunny will continue to need one on one time. She will need someone who is out and about and can take her with them to experience new people, new places and new sounds, etc. Bunny loves to snuggle on the sofa, give kisses and be held. She would do well in a calmer home but with someone who likes to take their dog with them, likes to walk, likes to have their dog in the car, to friend's homes, etc. Bunny REALLY enjoys playing with another dog and another playful and friendly dog in the home always helps kennel dogs to progress quickly.
This is the kind of home that we feel Bunny will shine in....
Puppies are cute but they are a lot of work and since Bunny's first months were not normal ones, she will need extra. Bunny will need someone who works from home and can have their dog in their work space, someone that works very part time - short hours or someone who is retired but still active and likes to take their dog with them on errands, friend's or family's homes, in the car, shopping, who has visitors in their home, etc. She will need socialization to catch up.
We adopt to those that have a fenced area or yards that lead directly from the house. This can be a full yard or a smaller area that is off a patio or deck so that Bunny has enough room to run and play. A securely fenced area will keep Bunny safe and give her the opportunity for exercise even when the weather is not the best, her owner is not feeling well, etc.
We are natural care providers and adopt to those that practice this level of care. We feed a balanced, raw diet, frozen or freeze dried. We very minimally vaccinate, use zero chemical/toxic flea, tick and mosquito "preventatives". This means nothing that is sold by your vet. We use no chemicals in our yards and in our homes. We believe in protection without harm.
If you would like more information on natural care please go to Star-Mar Rescue Natural Care Facebook page where you'll find a number of articles, studies, etc. In the column on the left side of the page click on videos and watch the video series The Truth About Pet Cancer. It is about how to keep your dog healthy and why limiting or eliminating things in our dog's life is important.
