My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Stuart!

This Shepherd mix came to AFRP from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he was brought in with a fractured leg. Now, after surgical correction and extensive love and care from his foster mom, Stuart is ready for his furever home!

Stuart, affectionally labeled as geeky and gangly by his foster mom, is a pup who has no clue just how big he is! He may as well be a super-sized lap dog, as no lap is too small for him! Stuart loves his foster siblings, both big and small, and would love to find a home with another playful pup to keep him company.

Stuart is a professional stuffy un-stuffer, and is obsessed with bones and his kong toys! He's both potty and crate trained and his foster has been hard at work with basic obedience and loose leash walking. He would do best with an experienced owner who has previously worked with dogs similar in temperament and breed (German shepherd, husky, etc.). His preferred home would be with adult adopters who are home throughout the day, or with families with children over the age of 12. He does great with dogs, cats are unknown but he should be introduced to any new animal in the home slowly over time.

Stuart is officially a graduate of an eight week long training course with Unchained and would love to show off his skills to his new furever family!

Stuarts adoption fee has been sponsored by Felipe De La Cruz of Unchained!!

Stuart is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
