Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at Tito's Handmade Vodka.
The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $125.00 will be applied during the contract process.
From her foster: When thinking about your ideal cat companion, do the words gentle, independent, and quiet come to mind?
Do you have the patience to build a relationship with a cat over months, allowing them space to adjust and time to trust?
If yes, Tippi might be what you've been looking for. Tippi is all about small steps, but she is absolutely worth it.
Tippi is a sweet soul looking for a forever home with lots of love and patience to allow her to come out of her shell at her own speed. Tippi arrived in rescue very scared and shy, and it took a few weeks before she attempted to explore the house, or come out of hiding. The ideal home for Tippi is one with patience, that is quiet, with a room she can have for herself starting out where her new family doesn't mind if she hides for a month or more in order to gain trust and get comfortable. Tippi can scare easily, and new people cause her to run and hide. Having a quiet space where she can decompress and feel safe is required.
Tippi will never never be the life of the party (she'll be hiding in the closet while the party is going on), but she'll demonstrate her bond by flopping next to you and holding your hand with her paws and rubbing her face on you. Or she'll approach you while you're watching tv to meow and ask for pets on her terms. She has occasionally slept on the bed with her foster mom, and waits most mornings after the alarm goes off for her "morning pets. It took 8 months for Tippi to not hide and greet her foster mom when she returned home from work.
Some of Tippi's favorite things include:
-Her yellow squeaky mouse
-Her tunnel (for playing and hiding)
-Churru treats
-A mechanical floppy fish
-Banana yeowwws
-Ear and chin scritches
Tippi has done well with younger kitty friends. She is great with covered litter boxes, has a healthy appetite, and knows what scratching posts are for. If Tippi sounds like a good match, please apply to learn more!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
