Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I'm Millie, a brown and white pit bull mix who is looking for a forever family. I'm 10 years old, 40 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also house, crate, and leash trained, and I walk great on the leash.
I'm a sweet, smart, and food motivated girl who has had some challenges in my life. I have issues with men, but I can overcome them with patience and trust. I can also be a fear snapper, so I need a calm and confident person who can help me feel safe and secure. Because of my fears, I tend to guard resources. I will guard food from other dogs and treats from humans. I will react if you approach me before I am finished with my bone.
I'm good with children who can respect my boundaries and not startle me. I would do best with older children who will understand that I am a scared dog. I'm also selective with other dogs, but I do like some of them. I prefer a friendly and easygoing dog who won't bother me too much. I have not been cat tested, but I can be if you are interested.
I'm currently being fostered in Hampton, VA, but I can be transported to another state for the right home. I'm looking for a responsible and caring person who can give me a loving and peaceful environment. You must be 21 or older to apply for me, and you must be willing to work with me and my quirks.
If you think you are the one for me, please fill out an application and let's meet. I promise to be your loyal and grateful friend for life.

More about this rescue
Our Mission
Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
