My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Velma is looking for their forever home!

WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Velma is a certified couch hippo. She spends 90% of her day laying on the couch, her bed, or any cozy spot so long as she is within five feet of the people she loves. Her favorite spot is a lap, so all she needs is a lifetime cuddle companion. She does enjoy her walks outside to visit her favorite treats stations, but once the route is complete, she is back to the house to assume her soft throne. Rosie loves playing with her indestructible chew toys. While she loves to play fetch, she has some work to do to handing over prized possession for another toss. She loves all people and is the star of any house party. She just needs to be in a home without other animals. While dogs make her nervous she loves to step aside and watch them go by.

(Next paragraph is from her eight year old human foster sister)

She is the best dog you could ever ask for. love's cuddling and she is always funny you might find her in the weirdest places. She loves cream cheese and hot sauce and hot dogs she loves making a mess with her water she loves going in the car and exploring nature and if you have cats nearby watch out and almost her favorite thing to do is chew sticks

(She's obviously good with kids.)

Apply for this certified cuddle bug, couch hippo, and best friend today!

ATTRIBUTES: Velma has done well interacting with other dogs and lives in foster with kids. She should not go to a home with cats, bunnies, or other small animals due to her prey drive.

More about this rescue

Laila's Legacy missions is to ensure every homeless dog - including those with behavioral or physical challenges - that comes through our doors has a chance at a better life while educating the public on breed bias, individualistic training, and the importance of spay-neuter to lower the impact of returned and abandoned animals in shelters.
