SophieAnn Grace is a 4 year old poodle mix that weighs approximately 13 pounds. She was found as a stray on the streets super scared of humans and very timid. After a good bath, haircut, and a warm bed, SophieAnn started to realize that humans are actually not that bad! It has taken her at least 6 months, but SophieAnn will now come up and sit on the couch with you, but still at an arms distance away. She is still unsure about being loved on and petted by humans. Occasionally, she will allow you to get her on a leash and that is when she will become shy and allow you to gently pet her. However, she still is learning what it means to walk on a leash as well as trust and not run away from human contact.
SophieAnn Grace would do best in a single adult household as she does tend to resource guard her person. Additionally, she needs another dog in the house to play with and teach her how to be a dog as well as show her that human love is okay. She is currently following and bonding with her fellow foster siblings and learning their daily routines. She enjoys running around outside on grass but currently does not play with toys. She does enjoy curling up in her many calming cuddle beds around the house and at the foot of her foster's bed at night.
SophieAnn Grace is very food motivated and loves raw carrots and peanut butter! She is doing well with potty training, but as with any rescue dog, there can be occasional accidents in the house. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and is heart worm negative. SophieAnn can't wait to find her furever family that is willing to slowly work with her and show her that humans are the best fur-parents ever!
UPDATE!!!
It has taken over 6 months, but recently, SophieAnn has started jumping on the bed at night and will lay at your feet or by your legs. She has started to jump up on the couch and will allow one of her foster parents to pet her without being scared and trying to run or bite. SophieAnn needs someone who will be patient with her and allow her to adjust in her own time to human contact and love. She is amazing with other dogs but just still very timid about humans, especially those she does not know well.
Adoption fee is: waived to the right family
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
