Meet Chile, the Gentle Giant with a Heart That Blooms Once He Gets To Know You

Don't be surprised if Chile takes a moment to warm up! This playful Great Dane may be small for his breed (weighing in at a manageable 90 lbs), but he also has a big, sensitive heart that needs time to blossom. New introductions, be it with people or pups, can initially make him a little shy. But once he gets to know you, get ready for a whirlwind of tail wags, playful nudges, and endless runs in the park!

Here's why Chile could be your perfect match:

Gentle and Composed: Despite his initial shyness, Chile possesses a truly gentle soul. He prefers calm greetings and gentle interactions, opting for head nudges and soft wags over boisterous jumps and licking.

Affectionate Companion: Once comfortable, Chile becomes a loving cuddle buddy. He may not share your furniture (preferring his cozy dog bed or kennel), but he'll shower you with affection in his own subtle ways, always happy to be by your side.

Playful and Fun-Loving: Don't let his initial caution fool you! When he warms up, Chile turns into a playful goofball. He loves fetching toys, exploring the park, and going for car rides. He's eager to please and always up for an adventure with his trusted companions.

Thrives with Patience and Understanding: Remember, Chile needs a patient and understanding home. His initial shyness doesn't reflect his true personality - he just needs time to build trust and feel secure.

Blooms into a Loyal Pack Member: Once he overcomes his initial hesitation, Chile becomes a loyal and loving member of the pack. He enjoys the company of children and other pets (with proper introductions and respecting his boundaries, of course).

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
