My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Clooney! Clooney is a courtesy posting for a kind & loving family who sadly find themselves in a position of needing to lovingly rehome this gorgeous, sweet dog. Clooney wrote up a description of himself and he would like you to read it:
"I am a mixed Brindle Pitbull breed and am about 3.5 years old. I am a big cuddle bug and sometimes don't even know my own size as I always sit with my owner on her recliner. Although we both don't fit very well, I love to snuggle . I have really big paws and I love to play with the hose in the summer. Its my favorite activity! I am so excited to see all the guests that come to my house to visit. Although I may need some work on jumping as I get so excited. I do really well with other dogs although I've never met any kitties. I think I may be just a tad rough with my house play that I may be best to be in a house with no children or adults only as I don't know my own strength. One of my other favorite past times is to lay in front of the fireplace on cold nights. I'm looking for my forever home and a family that I can continue to love unconditionally. Give me a few chew bones , an occasional toss of the stick and I will be the happiest big pitty ever! Take a peak at my adorable photos and I will melt your heart." If interested in adopting handsome Clooney, please submit an online application on the PAWS Ohio website @ www.pawsohio.org under the ADOPT tab. Thank you!

You can find out more about PAWS Ohio and about our pets on our website, PAWSOhio.org. We show our pets at adopt-a-thons around the greater Cleveland area, and partner with PetSmarts by using their in store cage spaces. We have PetSmart Coordinators for each of the two PetSmarts we are in, and a PetSmart Supervisor who oversees all of the Coordinators.

More about this rescue

The Public Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) was founded in 1976. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization considered to be one of Ohio’s most reputable long-standing cat and dog humane rescue groups.

Our group is dedicated to the rescue of pets in Northeastern Ohio. Our mission is to rescue stray and/or abused cats and dogs and place them in good homes. It is a PAWS policy to adopt animals to responsible homes only in the greater Cleveland area. We provide medical care to rescued animals and foster them in our own homes. We also make sure that they are spayed or neutered so that they do not continue the cycle of births that result in more pets than homes. The advantage of adopting a fostered animal is that we know all about our adoptable pets! They have lived with us and we know their personalities, habits, likes and dislikes. We can help you find the perfect companion for your home and lifestyle! We are a no kill organization (the only time we euthanize is on the advice of a vet in order to end suffering where no hope of recovery exists). Everything we do is out of love for the animals.

PAWS philosophy is that kindness to animals helps build a better world for all of us. Through the generosity of other caring individuals, we can ensure that animals who come into the care of PAWS will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain.

Our mission is
•To provide for the welfare, medical care, temporary housing, and adoption of dogs and cats in northeast Ohio.
•To Work for the prevention of cruelty to all animals.
•To work to form coalitions and working relationships with other local and national humane organizations.
•To actively create, promote and implement a humane education program.
•To reduce the over population of cats and dogs in northeast Ohio through education.
