Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet TJ!
Looking for those brighter days? Me too! I know they are coming and maybe you could be the one to give me them. I’m TJ, a 40lb male, senior (8-12 years of age), guessed to be at the low end of that range, so let’s not focus on that. What this means is I am a seasoned adult, no shenanigans to be played here. I came to WI in December on a freedom flight. A first class, all expenses paid trip to paradise to find my forever home. Many might say Wisconsin weather doesn’t qualify as paradise, but after living in a shelter for 2 years, having a warm home, consistent meals and a comfy bed to sleep in…yeah, that’s complete paradise to me. I am growing and coming out of my shell more and more every day. I can be scared of new situations but always friendly. For instance, putting on a harness and going for a walk was scary, but I did it, and now I walk like a champ. Going down the stairs was scary, but now I run up and down those no problem. Practice, some patience, and I will make you happy. Not a mean bone in my body, so I expect the same back. You know that old cliché “lover not a fighter”? That’s me!
I recently had a dental done, and the teefs that are left are sparkling. Sure I’m missing a few, but that doesn’t stop me from being food/treat motivated and chewing on a toy or two. I am crate trained. I prefer not to be, but probably still a good idea when you’re not home. Some of my skills include feng shui and interior decorating. My foster parents aren’t skilled here, so I help them out. I just move shoes and gloves around to make a more pleasant environment. I don’t tear them up or anything, I have toys for that and appreciate them greatly. I was the DJ at the Doggy New Year’s Eve bash my foster parents held. I quietly spin the tunes and let the music speak for itself. I'm super dog friendly, and I love all the people. I haven’t met those little humans here in WI, but I imagine I would love them too. I can get a small zoomie burst here and there and then content to just hang by your side and show you how grateful I am to have a home. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving, lightly adventurous dog, look no further. I'm your guy!
