Hi there, we are 34 Chihuahua mixes who were living a nightmare in the most deplorable and disgusting hoarder house imaginable. The floors were covered in filth, dank with urine, floorboards missing, and dogs in cages stacked high. Many of us had never even been outdoors, ever. It was truly hard to believe humans, dogs, or any creature could live that way. October 29th was FREEDOM DAY! We were all terrified and a few still are but coming around. Even though our lives sucked, that’s all we knew, and change can be scary. All of us were missing hair from fleas/filth/poor nutrition. Many of us were in desperate need of dental cleanings and teeth extractions. It was quite an undertaking for 4 Little Paws Rescue and through social media, so many lovely humans offered to foster us. Now that we have all been vaccinated, spayed, or neutered with dental work done, and some of us already feeling friendly, we can start our journey to finding love and kindness and living normal doggy lives.

My name is Delilah, I am a 5-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing 11 lbs, and although I am still shy when first meeting people, I am sweet and friendly once I trust you. I live with a kitty cat in my foster home and it doesn't faze me. I get along with other dogs, but they are not my focus. I prefer my people and could easily see myself being a lap dog, being pet and pampered with lots of love and attention, cuddles, and lots of kisses. My foster mom says I am the sweetest little dog she has ever fostered and I will be your little shadow and biggest fan. I'm well-behaved, don't chew your things or dig in the yard, just give me a cozy little doggy bed or a lap to snuggle in and I’m all set. At bedtime I prefer sleeping in bed with you under the covers if allowed, it's a chihuahua thing. I do fine in a crate and loud noises don't scare me. I just had a dental with quite a few teeth pulled out, but I love my kibble, have no trouble eating it, and think all doggy treats are delicious! I am already 100% potty pad trained while working on my “going outside” skills and learning about leash walking with a little harness on. My past may have been awful but my future looks amazing. I’m just a very sweet girl looking for love and already dreaming about being someone’s forever dog. There is a rescue dog transport van heading to Connecticut and I am planning to be on board and on my way to meet you!
