Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In Cordele, GA - Street is a 4-5 yrs old male, 30 lb, mini Aussie mix. Street was a local stray, that animal control picked up. He had been spotted, roaming, for weeks and no owner reclaimed him.
He is a gentle sweet soul that has not had much handling. He is not reactive, just uncomfortable and will turn away when he has had enough, but he is thriving in his foster home. Seeking out pets and scratching, then curling up on the couch.
Street loves other dogs, big or small, male/female, and happily grooms his foster sisters. He has a very gentle play-style, that he modifies to suit his playmate. He loves to be chased and will run as long as his partner wants to play. He would prefer a friend around his size or larger. He is extremely gentle with his much smaller foster sisters, but he restrains himself and deserves more fun. He also loves long naps on the couch, just hang out watching tv.
Street’s perfect home must have a fenced yard. He would be a flight risk until he knows his people. He must have a doggie friend! He gets so much joy and comfort from the companionship. A stable dog friend will help him come out of his shell faster!
Street is crated trained, but occasionally get anxious when alone. He is terrified of gunshots/fireworks/thunder, when outside, but indifferent inside. Someone that is retired or works from home is preferred. Street needs a quiet home. Not busy, with a lot of people in and out. It’s overwhelming to him, at this point in his life, so he wants to bolt. (He is getting bolder, meeting new people, but a work in progress). He has apparently lived his entire life outdoors and is his happiest outside, so free yard time is a must! Street has marked some, but it is random. His foster thinks this will resolve as he grows more comfortable/confident in his environment. He does not mark when supervised inside. Street is extremely quiet in and out of the house. You wouldn’t know he was in the house. He rarely barks, but will help his barking foster sisters, in the yard, if needed, but gets bored with it fast! He is a dog that has lived his life, on the outside looking in, so potential adopters need to understand and have patience, be prepared to guide him. He will need plenty of time to adjust to his new home, but It’s so worth it, because he has the fastest wiggle butt, the cutest piggy snort and wooo wooo!
Please complete an app if you think you can give Street the life he has never had, but learning to love.
There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
